Friday, May 25, 2007 Roanoke, VA
The days are starting sooner and the breakfasts have become non-existent. Today I got on the road and 6:10. 66degrees, or so it read on the bike, but as I traveled toward Binghampton on I-88 it got down to 54. Had to add a liner to the jacket and crank up the old heated grips again. No charge on the one exit I took for the NYS Thruway. (surprise!!) It stayed cold all through NY. PA was a pleasant drive. Maryland had all of 11 miles and WVa about 25 miles so I just blasted right through em. By now, it's about 94 degrees, and since I haven't eaten today, I thought I'd stop for breakfast (lunch) about 2:00. Spoke with Lee, and unfortunately, a visit this time around won't be possible. Next time maybe - but it won't be on a motorcycle. It was good to talk to her. I really have to think about staying in touch a little better. At least Nora's good at that stuff. Meeting Fran Hook for breakfast tomorrow. It's only been a couple weeks since Mike's funeral. I hope she's doing OK. Then it's off to Fla. So as you can see - pretty uneventful.
