November 7, 2010
My last (and first) ride for
November before we leave for Patagonia.
A quick 50 miles in 40 degree temps (brrrrrrrr), and then top off the
tank with 100% gasoline (no ethanol), add some fuel stabilizer for the winter,
and head home. Hope to give it a bath
and pull the battery before we leave.
We did some trial packing to
see if everything fits. I think we’ll be
OK. Motorcycle gear, while not real
heavy, is quite bulky. I’m sure I’m taking more stuff than I would if I was
traveling alone, but if Weez isn’t happy – Poppa Matt won’t be happy, so I’ll
just pack more stuff.
For those of you who may be
following this, be patient. I’m not sure
how prevalent internet connections will be where we are. I’ve also never had to think about dividing
my time between blogging, and spending time with Louise. She may take all the computer time away from
me anyway.
Monday – dinner with
relatives.
Tuesday - dinner with friends.
Wedensday – Nora takes us to
the airport. Thanks, sis!
Ten years ago, I never could
have envisioned this. At that time, I
hadn’t thrown a leg over a motorcycle in over a quarter century. Look at us now! Who’d a thunk it? (certainly not Louise) so we’re off to the
furthest reaches of South America! Hope
I can give you an idea of what it’s like.
We’ll send pics on Kodak
Gallery.
Stay tuned!
